mooses

so... on my way back from a little visit with the folks in ktown i got a lovely treat - moose! (mooses? mouses? meece? mice?) (yeah, yeah, i know that the plural of moose is still moose. it's just fun to play with words. i think i get it from my mother.) right. on to the moose - 3 of them, about the size of horses (meaning that, in moose terms, they're only teenagers, and half-grown) just kinda standing on their side of the fence, watching traffic. (for them of you that don't live in this part of the world, or have never driven the coquihalla highway, it's bound on either side by 8' wire fences, with occasional funny 1-way "gates" that allow wildlife that finds itself on the highway side to get to the "safe" side, but not to get back out, onto the highway. this is reasonably effective, and results in very little roadkill along the highway, unlike most other places in the province. you still see plenty of wildlife, but most of it isn't dead. very nice.)

anyway. lovely visit, some time falling off my bike, some more time not-falling, and some lovely weather. and now it's back to the big city, and an already-successful househunt. i called my last landlord to make sure i could use him as a reference, and he told me that my old place is empty again, and if i wanted it back i could have it. since it's a mere 2km from school, and has lots of space, and a yard, and laundry, and parking, and light, and a deck... it seemed like a good idea. it's actually way more space than i need, but it means that if money gets tight, i can always look for a roommate. strange, that a 2bedroom house is cheaper than most 1bedroom apartments, but i'm not complaining. now that crazy downstairs lady is moving out, it'll be a lovely house to live in. of course, there's no telling who'll move in to take her place, but... that's a problem anywhere. so - i have a place to live. yay, me.

and i have a lead on another little job, so that's all pleasant and nifty too, and means i'll be that much less in debt by the end of the school year. hell, at this rate i might not even go into debt until sometime in my second year... if i'm smart with money that is. hmmm. smart + money + me... hmmmmmm. it's nice to have a dream.

not so nice to be having some of the dreams i've been having lately though - some have been downright nasty, and some just disturbing, and some just kinda weird. like this one; i sent a message to another guy on the online personals site i use (that part is real), and then i dreamt that he already had a girlfriend and was just seeing how many responses he would get. i'm thinking that's a direct result of me reading blue's diary though, rather than my own strange imagination. still, it's been a few days and no response, so i think this is yet another thing that's destined not-to-be. *sigh*
