yesterday was reasonably... well, not productive, entirely, but fun; Ryan, Jason and i went to see Shaun of the Dead, and i picked up my Ministry ticket, and the boys bought clothes. yeah, there's something a little funny about going clothes shopping with boys, especially when one keeps wanting you to try on cute little tops/skirts/whatever, and the other one is your brother, but it was still fun.
mom's health is awful these days, but since pretty much everyone she knows is ganging up on her to make her STOP, REST, and TAKE CARE OF HERSELF FOR A CHANGE, i think she'll be back on her feet in a few weeks. she's been driving herself nonstop for about 3 years now, between africa, dad's family, responsibilities to her community, and her own circle of friends, and it's finally caught up with her in a way she can't ignore. she's here with Ryan for his last few days in the country, which is maybe not the best thing for her physically, but i understand that it's the best thing for her mentally/emotionally - and i like having her here, so that i know she's resting, eating well and putting her own health first for a change. i may try to force her to stay all week, just so i can drive her back myself this weekend - i'm not sure she's up to the drive home alone, and i certainly have the space for her here... depends on how much she lets me take care of her, i guess. maybe i'll just hide her car keys.
